My son......

Today, in the daylight hours while we were getting ready to go to church this morning, in the AM, told us that he thought he might have an ear infection. Because his ear was hurting.......

Okay, fast forward to this afternoon about 5 pmish. We are getting ready to go back to church and ask him if he thinks he needs to see a doctor today or if his ear was better. Well, of course, it wasn't hurting him at all. So we forgot about it. That is...

Until 10PMish. He wakes up and tells his dad that his ear is hurting really badly. Translation: there is not a doc in the box open for hundreds of miles, so DH gets to take him to the ER. Translation: way too much money for something that could have been taken care of earlier today.

What can you do?

Hope everyone has a great week.

That is a shame...but that is how ear infections seem to work in our house too. They hurt and then have periods of not hurting. Of coarse you had the whole law of mom physics against you there you know, because

A. it was the weekend when it is not easy to get into the doc

B. it was late at night, which of course is when all heck breaks lose in our house, when you have to go to the ER.

Hang in there and good luck...hope he got meds. Just know we have ALL been there too!:)

sounds like our house...been there and had that happen!

i keep simalisan (sp?) on hand...ear drops for ear ache relief. I give them right away. I had a doc tell me once that most of the time, an antibiotic is not needed for an ear infection...i have found these to work wonders and no meds for the last two-three times...and that is in the past couple of years...just my 2 cents...no dr. by any means...just what works here!

congrats on your day!

I'm dreading the day my 4 yr old gets an ear infection...I get them all the time. My only problem is, I don't hurt where my ear is concerned, I just start bumping into things and fall over dizzy. It's actually quite hilarious! I can honestly say, I have given myself a black eye from running smack into a wall!
Happy SITs day!!! I thought you should know, I just lost an hour or two reading some of your posts. Great fun, it was (in my best Yoda impression)!!!

My son ended up with an ear infection Sunday evening also. But we made it to the emergency clinic (doc in a box) before the closing time, thank goodness.

So sorry. Poor guy. Talk about awful pain.

I have so been there, but it is usually when I am sick. Somehow I always end up in the ER for simple things. *sigh*
