F ------------G !!!!!!
That's right. A curse word. Now, before all you ladies swoon and pass out. I have just found a new curse word that starts with "F" and ends with "G".
I am, by no means, a literary scholar. Although, I do love to read books. That is neither here nor there.
This new word I'm talking about is F U N D R A I S I N G.!!!!! You got it. Fundraising has become the bane of my existence right now. The football team is fundraising, the cheerleaders are fundraising, the school is fundraising, the PTO is fundraising, the Science Club is fundraising, the FFA is fundraising, the repave the driveway club, oh wait, scratch that last one. LOL.
It seems like everywhere I go and anyway I turn someone has their hand out wanting some money for a fundraising event. YIKES!!!! Don't you people know it's close to Christmas?

I don't have a problem giving five dollars here and five dollars there, but have you seen some of the things they are using to raise funds with. The cheapest thing I can order (and not look like a cheapskate) is fifteen dollars. Then with fifteen dollars here and twenty dollars there, I'm broke. Busted. I ain't got no more moola.

AND I got to save up for the Girl Scout Cookies. I got to have me some thin mints and samoas.

Any one else find themselves being dollared broke by various fund raisers?

We went through a spell just not long ago where everyone was hitting us up. Now we're wondering when we'll get it.

I have also been on the other side of the fund raising. I hate it when you just finish one and another group starts fund raising. How many times can we ask the same people. Geeesh.

all 3 kids brought home fund-raising things this past week, and 2 had more than one for a total of 5! i realize these school organizations need money, but i'm starting to wonder where my tax money is going...
(P.S. pre-sales for GS cookies will be January and L is your local GS :)

I felt miserable being involved in these things while growing up. I went home and tossed the order sheets and other papers in the trash. No one wants to pay that much for candles, or cookies, or chocolates, or whatever other ridiculous thing they want us to push on the community and even in middle school I knew that.

Stopping by from SITS...

I HATE fundraising. To make matters worse, they always want us to sell really expensive things that no one wants. ha!

HATE THEM HATE THEM HATE THEM

I REFUSE to get involved in them. When my kids come home with all these forms, I just write out a check to the PTA (or whatever group) for $10. Then they get clear profit and I don't get a bunch of junk I don't need.

The fundraising is out of control. I like Hot Tub Lizzy's idea.

Fundraising is major, even in nonprofit agencies. You can't even go to Walmart without a group of kids selling something for uniforms, scouts, or a team sport. I fall for it every time!

And I'm with you on Girl Scout cookies. I like the samoas and the lemon cookies...and the shortbread.

By the way, thanks for stopping by my blog yesterday. :-)
