He's a football legend.......okay, so maybe not a legend exactly, but it could happen.
This is my youngest son a few years back. (Kind of looks like some hockey players, eh?)
I digress. Tonight, my sweet, tiny, little baby boy took the field in his middle school football uniform. And I could not believe that I actually sat in the pouring rain to watch a football game. Do I love this kid or what?
Because it was raining, most, if not all of the people in the stands were holding umbrellas. Big, large umbrellas. And it was kind of hard to see out from under them, but I heard my sweet, tiny, little baby boy's name being called over the loudspeaker. He had made a great takedown. Yeehaw!!!!! I couldn't really see it because of the umbrellas, but the dude on the loudspeaker said my sweet, tiny little baby boy's name, so I yelled as loud as I could.
Then, I went to work the concession stand. Here's how it worked out. The mothers of the varsity players worked the concessions while the middle school moms watched their children play. When our children were finished, we relieved the varsity moms so they could watch their children play.
Let me rephrase that. Some of us worked the conessions. Others of us just wanted to be there to be seen. It was totally like I was in high school all over again. Man, I am too old to have to put up with that clique crap again. So, I'm just going to work where I'm needed (because I support my son) and go home.
After all was said and done, it was a good evening. And I'd just like to say a big ole WELCOME HOME to my MIL. She has been gone for two weeks and I'm glad she's back.
Oh, dear, dear SIL, June is almost here. And your house is next door and the septic went in today and I'm getting more and more excited.....
Y'all be blessed.
